Manuel Fendez - Sculptor
Born in Madrid on March 2th 1970 the artist develops from infancy an innate sensibility towards fine arts.
He courses his studies in Madrid and in 1990 moves to an isolated Irish town (Mullingar), where he spends several months exploring different sculptural techniques and finding inspiration from the deep character of the Irish countryside.
In 1995 he stabilises his sculpture studio in Madrid.
In 1997 he travels to Italy to study the works of the great renaissance masters in Florence and Rome.
In 1999 he moves to Los Angeles, California, US, where he engages art studies in the Barnsdall Art Center. There he participates in courses deepening in different sculpture technics, design, analysis of abstract art, drawing and moulding. He also works in several projects in collaboration with American artists such as Richard Ellis, William Roode and Gloria Martin.
In 2015 he moves to Sydney, Australia where he exchanges experiences with different sculptors, using Tom Bass studio installations where he works in some of his last pieces.
We are before an artist whose creative ability is based on a deep innate quality for sculpturing. His never-ending curiosity enriches his work and life experience.
